2026 Chevrolet Equinox

LT establishes the range with heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and the Equinox’s dual-screen digital layout. Chevy Safety Assist is also standard, giving the entry trim a substantial collection of driver-assistance technology without requiring a move farther up the lineup. RS gives the Equinox a more assertive appearance through black exterior accents and distinctive trim details. The cabin carries that theme inside with contrasting elements and a sportier presentation, while retaining the same passenger space and core technology found throughout the range. ACTIV is configured for drivers who spend more time beyond smooth pavement. All-terrain tires and revised suspension tuning add confidence on gravel and uneven surfaces, while Evotex and sueded microfiber materials give the interior a distinctive combination of durability and premium texture.

Every 2026 Equinox uses a Turbocharged 1.5L engine producing 175 hp. FWD is standard, while available AWD provides additional traction when rain, snow, or changing Michigan road conditions demand it. The engine is calibrated for smooth, progressive power delivery during urban driving and highway merging.

The Equinox favors predictable responses and composed road manners, with light steering that makes its compact dimensions easy to manage around Hillsdale. Its suspension is tuned to absorb imperfect pavement while maintaining stability on longer highway drives. ACTIV adds all-terrain tires and revised suspension tuning for greater confidence on loose or uneven surfaces. When properly equipped, the Equinox can tow up to 1,500 lbs., providing capacity for a small utility trailer or recreational equipment.

The 2-row cabin accommodates up to 5 passengers and provides flexible storage for everyday family needs. Folding the 60/40-split rear seat expands maximum cargo capacity to 63.5 cu. ft., while hidden underfloor storage provides a separate place for smaller items. Materials become more distinctive farther up the range, with ACTIV introducing Evotex and sueded microfiber surfaces. Thoughtful control placement and an uncluttered dashboard help preserve an open feel across all 3 trims.

An 11.3-inch touchscreen is paired with an 11-inch Driver Information Center, giving the Equinox a substantial digital interface without dominating the cabin.
